Field Survey 8th June 2020
A big flower day at the flower meadow, I found a dozen or more growing spears of the lesser Butterfly Orchid!
The protection of a small colony of this very rare plant was the very start of the focus on environmental Farming here oat Ballachly. There had been lots of rain in the preceding week and this had brought everything on, I estimate between 2 and 3 times as many plants in flower with masses of new types just about to flower, we will see them next week.
The other big stars this week are the continuing Pig Nuts and Speedwell with the yellows of the Lesser Celandine and others I cannot identify, give your thoughts.
